We’re proud to share that Accura Engineering has been named winner of the Automotive, Aerospace & Rail Award at the prestigious Made in the UK Awards 2025, held at Liverpool’s iconic Titanic Hotel.
This national recognition celebrates innovation, resilience, and impact across British manufacturing and for Accura, it marks more than just a win. It signals a new chapter in our journey to lead the UK’s high-reliability aerospace and defence supply chain, while reinforcing the Midlands’ reputation as a centre of engineering excellence.
A year of transformation for UK aerospace manufacturing
In 2024, Accura Engineering made a bold investment in the future: a £4 million Centre of Excellence for Production Machining, built to elevate both speed and precision. At the heart of the facility are advanced 5-axis DMG MORI machining platforms, which have dramatically increased our production efficiency.
To illustrate the leap in capability: drilling a hole in armour-grade steel once took 3.5 minutes. With our upgraded technology, the same process now takes just 2.5 seconds.
"Winning this award shows how far we’ve come and where we’re heading,”
says Sophie Hallett-Jones, Managing Director at Accura Engineering.
"It’s recognition for every member of our team who has helped transform the business. We’re proud to represent Midlands’ manufacturing and proud to power the future of UK aerospace.”
Shining a national spotlight on Midlands manufacturing
The Made in the UK Awards bring together regional winners from across England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland to celebrate the best of British industry. These awards not only reward commercial growth, they honour leadership, ingenuity, and long-term impact.
For Accura Engineering, the recognition puts a national spotlight on the Midlands’ contribution to UK manufacturing. Known for its rich industrial heritage and aerospace capability, the region continues to play a vital role in strengthening the country’s global competitiveness.
This award also reinforces Accura’s position as a trusted supplier to Tier 1s and global OEMs, delivering high-precision components at scale with consistent quality and performance.
Built on compliance, trusted for delivery
At Accura, we understand what’s required to succeed in highly regulated industries. Our facilities hold AS9100 and NADCAP certifications, and we are also a JOSCAR-accredited supplier. These accreditations offer customers full confidence in our traceability, compliance, and production integrity.
From complex aerospace assemblies to mission-critical defence parts, we support some of the world’s most demanding programmes with:
- Precision CNC machining of high-tolerance components
- Press tooling and complex sub-assemblies
- End-to-end manufacturing support from NPI to serial production
- Transparent communication and quality-driven processes
No matter the project size or complexity, we bring agility, technical depth, and a commitment to excellence.
Looking ahead: a milestone on the road to £20m
While this award is a major milestone, it’s far from the finish line. Accura Engineering is growing with intent and we’ve set our sights on reaching £20 million turnover by 2027.
To achieve this, we’re:
- Investing in smart automation and digital manufacturing
- Expanding production capacity to support long-term contracts
- Attracting and developing skilled talent through apprenticeships and leadership development
- Building strategic partnerships that drive innovation and resilience
"We’re growing with purpose,” says Sophie Hallett-Jones. "This award confirms that we’re on the right path but we’re just getting started.”
